Being truly vulnerable and letting others see into your deepest fears, doubts, struggles, and failures is terrifying. Most of us like to hide behind walls because of our insecurities. The world is a viscous place that puts narrow expectations on us to live a certain way even if that's not who we are born to be. My wish for this document and those that follow is to let you inside, to open up the door, and to continue to pull the curtain back on what life truly looks like for a regular human being, simply trying to bring light to the world in a very athenticly perfectly broken way. Like any journey, there will be times that are fun, insightful, and possibly even breathtaking. While I hope you experience those moments, I really want you to experience “The Journey” with me. I'll admit, I am not the best at expressing my feelings, and like most, I have had some experiences that I try to shield from others in order to protect my identity...or at least who I want to appear to be to others. But I am a firm believer that the past is the past, and we have the opportunity to fully create our future if we choose. So I'm leaving it all here. Slowly but surely you will see all of the doubts, failures, hopes and successes that have lead me to P.E.A.C.E. So join me on this journey. Let’s laugh, cry, learn, and win together. Notice I said together, so wherever you are currently reading this feel free to tell your friend about something dumb I've done or been through as well as chime in with how you can or can't relate.
Here's a little light to leave you with. - I wholeheartedly believe and trust that every hard thing, friend lost, class retaken, job failed, failed relationship, and everything in between has lead me to this point. No, everything is not perfect and never will it be. But, because I chose to learn from my hardship and come to terms with history being set in stone I have a much better understanding on how to move forward. Life is a huge bucket that we get to fill with mistakes one drop at a time. The only goal is quench the thirst of the next generation by letting them see and taste what's in the bucket. Have you made any mistakes lately? "It is not the mountains we conquer, but ourselves" -Edmund Hilary
